Factoring: Is the act separating an equation into their common parts. The main focus of factoring is to break an equation into it's building blocks. Think of factoring in the same sense you would think of the game Jenga. Taking each block apart until you are left without a tower.

For example:

If we look at the number 14 we can break this number down into its primes.
7 and 2 are the two prime numbers which come together to give us the number 14 by the act of multiplication.
